The U.S. Code

Legislation passed by Congress and approved by the President becomes law and is then consolidated and codified by subject matter in the U.S. Code.
The official version of the U.S. Code is on Govinfo.gov which contains virtual main editions by year of the U.S. Code. The information contained in the U.S. Code has been provided to GPO by the Office of the Law Revision Counsel of the U.S. House of Representatives.
A user-friendly version of the U.S. Code has been created online by the Legal Information Institute at the Cornell University Law School.
